Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - September 13, 2026 - To celebrate Saudi Arabia’s 96th National Day, Spotify is launching Majlis Spotify, a new interactive in-app experience celebratin Saudi music and culture. Starting today and available through October 3, the experience brings together some of Saudi Arabia’s most iconic artists and the music that has become part of National Day memories. Designed entirely in Arabic, Majlis Spotify offers listeners a new way to explore the artists and songs connected to the occasion.

For generations, the Majlis has been more than a room, it is a place where people come together, ideas are shared and memories are made. Majlis Spotify draws on that familiar cultural experience, bringing its spirit into the Spotify app through a space that feels recognisably Saudi.

A Glimpse into Majlis Spotify

As Spotify users enter the experience, they can explore a digitally reimagined Majlis and interact with familiar objects, from an oud resting on the sofa and a retro television set to a letter and a tray of coffee, dates, and incense.

Guided by on-screen prompts and a progress tracker, each object opens a window into the stories, music and cultural impact of some of Saudi Arabia’s most iconic artists. The experience allows listeners to test how well they know the artists and songs that have soundtracked Saudi celebrations and memories over the years, featuring Mohammed Abdu, Rabeh Saqer, Talal Maddah, Abdulmajeed Abdullah, Fawzi Mahsson, and Ayed.

At the end of their journey, each listener receives a personalised Tarab Certificate, matching them with one of four Majlis personas: The Majlis Legend (أسطورة المجلس), The Majlis Audiophile (سمّيع المجلس), The Majlis Tastemaker (ذوّيق المجلس) or The Majlis Vibe (جوّ المجلس). Each persona reflects a different relationship with music, from the person everyone turns to for their deep musical knowledge to the one who always knows how to bring the right energy to the room.

“For many of us in Saudi Arabia, music carries memories across generations and is part of how we express who we are. This Saudi National Day, we wanted to give fans a way to bring that connection to life, to test what they know, discover something new and reconnect with the artists and songs they love. As we mark عزنا بطبعنا, ‘Our Pride Is in Our Nature’, we also wanted to honour عزنا بطربنا, ‘Our Pride Is in Our Tarab.’ And that’s what Majlis Spotify is about: putting fans at the heart of a celebration of the artists and songs that have shaped Saudi culture,” said Nedhal Alhabib, Market Development Lead, Saudi Arabia at Spotify.

The experience continues beyond the Majlis itself, and listeners can also listen to a curated featuring heritage tracks discovered throughout the journey.  Each listener also receives a playlist cover, tied to the persona they are matched with, adding a personal touch to a shared celebration of Saudi music, past and present.

To access the experience, open the Spotify mobile app and search “Majlis” or visit this link on a mobile device from September 13 through October 3.
