Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Oct 02, 2025 -  Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia has announced the signing of a new strategic agreement with Red Bull Mobile Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of Future Networks, marking the first-of-its-kind collaboration between Samsung and a virtual mobile network operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

Through this collaboration, Samsung devices will be available through Red Bull Mobile Saudi Arabia’s various distribution channels, including its official online store, retail sales for individual customers, and the business-to-business (B2B) sector. This partnership reflects Samsung’s commitment towards providing and introducing its latest technologies through innovative collaborations that enhance the digital experience for users.

Record-breaking Captain Mishaal Al-Sudairy launches book at Riyadh International Book Fair: ‘Flying Around the World Solo in 26 Days’

4th October 2025; Captain Mishaal Al-Sudairy officially launched his book, ‘Flying Around the World Solo in 26 Days’, at Riyadh International Book Fair on 4th October 2025. The memoir captures his record-breaking journey as the first Saudi Arabian to fly solo around the world, offering readers a deeply personal account of courage, determination and global exploration.

 

The paperback chronicles Mishaal’s 26-day flight in a Diamond DA42 aircraft, during which he covered over 20,000 nautical miles and navigated diverse and challenging landscapes across multiple continents.

 

His extraordinary expedition began on 8th June 2024 when he departed Saudi Arabia, flying West to East through India, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, and over the Bering Sea to Alaska. He continued on to Wisconsin to fly in to the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh airshow – the most iconic aviation event in the world. The return leg saw him cross Canada and Greenland, continuing through Iceland, Northern Ireland, England, Austria, and onto Crete before returning to Riyadh.

 

Mishaal stopped at 30 airports en route, and allocated 3 days for the airshow and 3 for aircraft maintenance. His DA42 was fitted with an array of survival equipment, as well as a satellite phone and oxygen generator.

 

An adventurer, motorcycle enthusiast and member of the Saudi Aviation Club, Al-Sudairy began flying later in life aged 52, just 6 years before he undertook his round-the-world escapade. He hopes to use his story to inspire others – regardless of their age and years of flying under their belt – to pursure their aviation dreams. He is a lifetime member of EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association, a US non-profit outfit that is at the heart of grassroots aviation.

 

“It brings me great pleasure to share my story through this book, and hope it inspires people of all ages. There is no age too young or old to start flying. Aviation is a powerful hobby; it teaches discipline, builds strong habits and instills a lasting work ethic. It crosses generations and brings people together in a way that few other passions can,” said Captain Mishaal Al-Sudairy.

 

Published in paperback in Arabic, with an English edition due out by the year end, ‘Flying Around the World Solo in 26 Days’ is currently available through Kitabouna, with an extensive global distribution network in the pipeline.

Moussaief, one of the most discreet and exclusive high jewellery houses in the world, will showcase an array of its masterpieces. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – October 1, 2025 – Spotify has released its first Saudi edition of the Loud & Clear report, an annual global music economics report designed to bring greater transparency to the industry by sharing data on royalty payments and breaking down the streaming economy.

The 2024 Saudi Arabia edition spotlights a music scene gaining momentum at home and expanding abroad, with Saudi artists reaching new listeners, converting discovery into royalties, and building sustainable careers.

220M+ Saudi Artist Discoveries

Saudi artists are being discovered by new listeners across the globe. In 2024 alone, they were discovered by first-time listeners over 220 million times — a 75% increase from the previous year.

More than 90% of royalties generated for Saudi artists came from outside the Kingdom, underscoring the export potential of Saudi music. Top international streaming markets included the United States, Brazil, India, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, while regionally, engagement was strong in Egypt, the UAE, Morocco, Iraq, and Jordan.

Between 2022 and 2024, the global number of Spotify followers for Saudi artists more than doubled, reflecting sustained fan growth and deeper artist engagement.



13M+ SAR Royalties in 2024
 In 2024, Saudi artists generated over 13 million SAR in royalties on Spotify — a 76% increase from the previous year and more than double the total in 2022.

The number of Saudi artists generating over 100,000 SAR annually on Spotify has also doubled since 2023, showing how streaming is translating discovery into financial opportunity and enabling more artists to build sustainable careers.

Saudi Music Consumption Nearly Tripled
 In Saudi Arabia, consumption of Saudi music on Spotify has increased by more than 195% since 2020 — nearly tripling in just four years.

Streaming is becoming part of everyday life for Saudi listeners, with pride in homegrown talent driving demand. Strong domestic engagement provides the foundation for a healthy music industry, allowing Saudi artists to grow locally and succeed globally.

Spotify’s Commitment to the Saudi Music Ecosystem

Spotify continues to invest in the local music scene through long-term initiatives that support artist discovery, education, and career development.

Launched in 2024, Fresh Finds Saudi: Class 2k24 marked Spotify’s first localized artist residency in the Kingdom. The class featured four diverse talents — BrownMusic, Grzzlee, Kali-B, and Seera — who participated in songwriting and production workshops, music marketing sessions, and studio recordings.

Spotify also spotlights Saudi talent through initiatives like RADAR Arabia and EQUAL Arabia. Homegrown artists such as DJ Mubarak and Sultan Al Murshed have been featured in RADAR Arabia, while Zena Emad and Dalia Mubarak have been spotlighted through EQUAL Arabia — Spotify’s global initiative supporting gender equity in music.

These programs are reinforced by Spotify for Artists (S4A), which provides creators with data and insights to grow their careers. Tools like Canvas and Countdown Pages help artists creatively engage fans, while Spotify for Artists Masterclasses offer guidance on using these features effectively and share best practices to help creators reach and expand their audiences. EXEED will showcase three international brand-new models at the User Summit. The MX features an all-new design, with further details to be revealed. Its triple-screen and multi-screen interface enhances the cabin’s technological vibe. Notably, the MX also features 23 ADAS, significantly improving driving safety and reducing fatigue.

Positioned as a next-generation C-segment long-range flagship sedan, the E01 delivers a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.239Cd. Its cabin offers a spacious and airy layout, complemented by abundant storage solutions that meet the needs of both daily commutes and long-distance travel. Designed for an exceptional driving experience, the E01 features a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension system paired with CDC adaptive dampers, ensuring a smooth ride with agile handling. The hybrid powertrain strikes a balance between long-range capability and low fuel consumption. It also delivers quick acceleration response, making the E01 ideal for both urban commuting and highway travel.

The E02, a mid-to-large flagship SUV, features a premium smart cockpit and delivers a refined driving experience. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The Extended-Range system enables over 230 km of pure electric driving and a total range of more than 1400 km, with fuel consumption of just 6.1L/100km in charge-depleted mode. Combining power with efficiency, the E02 also stands out with a class-leading length of 5180 mm and a 3100 mm wheelbase. It offers 1085 mm of headroom and a flexible six-seat layout, making it ideal for family trips, camping and other leisure scenarios. To enhance practicality, the vehicle comes with a 9.2-litre large-capacity refrigerator for additional storage.

Four Key Activities Showcase EXEED’s Engineering Prowess

In addition to three models, EXEED will also host a track test drive at Shanghai Tianma Circuit, with a wide range of 9 EXLANTIX models. They will experience the handling of the four-motor AWD system paired with Maybach-grade suspension. The program also showcases three-second-level acceleration and advanced smart features such as one-touch remote parking. On a professional track, the event will fully demonstrate EXEED’s driving performance and premium quality.

NFPA highlights electric vehicle risks at Intersec Saudi Arabia

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) addressed delegates yesterday at Intersec Saudi Arabia to discuss the fire risks of electric vehicles (EVs)


The session was part of a dedicated NFPA day at the event’s Fire Protection & Technology Summit, which featured industry leaders and international experts


During an insightful presentation, NFPA highlighted the need for updated codes, training and global collaboration to ensure safety keeps pace with EV technology


Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The growth of EVs and their related fire risks was addressed yesterday at the Fire Protection & Technology Summit at Intersec Saudi Arabia by Mike Brunzell, VP of Global Business Development, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). 


According to research from the International Energy Agency (IEA), EV adoption is accelerating worldwide, with global sales exceeding 17 million in 2024, accounting for more than 20% of sales. With the increase in sales, a range of new and unique fire risks are posed, particularly in high-density environments such as residential and commercial parking structures. 


Brunzell said: “One of the major concerns we face is the risk of thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries. While the data shows us that EV fires occur less frequently than fires in gas or diesel-powered vehicles, the research also shows that when they do occur, they can present unique and difficult challenges including longer burn durations, high heat release, toxic gases, re-ignition risks and significant water demand for suppression.” 


Through the NFPA’s Fire Protection Research Foundation, extensive studies have been conducted on vehicle fire dynamics, suppression strategies and ventilation design. Findings reveal that modern vehicles contain significantly higher plastic content, increasing from less than 3% of vehicle weight in the 1970s to nearly 10% today, resulting in greater combustible fuel loads. The increased use of electronic components and complex wiring systems also introduces new ignition risks. 


Brunzell emphasised the importance of evolving codes and standards to keep pace with technology: “It is through the development of our codes and standards, research initiatives and training programmes that NFPA is proactively working to provide the guidance and the resources needed by fire protection professionals, property owners and policymakers to ensure the integration of EV infrastructure safety strategies.” 


Notable NFPA codes mentioned in the session include the NFPA 88A (Standard for Parking Structures), which requires sprinkler protection for all parking structures, with higher densities set by NFPA 13. NFPA 855 (Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems) addresses the risks associated with energy storage installations, including fire suppression and thermal runaway. The NFPA 800 Battery Safety Code is currently under development.

  • Smarter agent assistance: Cisco AI Assistant in Contact Center, which became generally available for customers in early 2025, has more new features coming this year including suggested responses, real-time transcription, mid-call and wrap-up summaries. It boosts efficiency while allowing human agents to focus on the conversation as AI seamlessly manages routine processes.

Expanding the Ecosystem: Integrations with Salesforce, AWS and Epic

  • Webex Contact Center for Salesforce: As part of Salesforce’s Bring Your Own Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) program, the new deeper integration enables businesses to orchestrate customer experiences using Webex and Salesforce CRM data. Now, every interaction can be managed directly inside Salesforce, through Service Cloud Voice and Bring your Own Channel, and powered by Webex AI and Agentforce. Currently in early access, with general availability planned for Q1 2026. 
  • Integration with Amazon Lex: Powered by the same technology as Alexa, Amazon Lex enables businesses to build conversational AI interfaces that let users interact naturally by voice or chat. By integrating Amazon Lex with Webex Contact Center and Contact Center Enterprise, customers using AWS have the flexibility to build Amazon Lex virtual agents with AI receptionist capabilities to deflect or route inbound calls, improve caller intent recognition, and accelerate resolution of live interactions with an agent.   • Epic Systems: Integration with Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) software enhances the ability of care providers and contact center agents to offer tailored and compassionate support within Epic. Available now. 

Global Market Expansion 

Cisco is expanding the Webex ecosystem by launching Webex Contact Center and Webex Calling in new markets. Locally hosted solutions offer advanced AI, seamless integration, and enhanced compliance—improving call quality, reducing latency, and ensuring secure, reliable experiences for Indian and multinational organizations. 

  • Planned for Q2 2026, Cisco will expand Webex Calling with dedicated data centers in Mumbai and Chennai and will launch Webex Contact Center services in India.

Middle East Public Relations Association to Host Annual KSA Leadership Majlis in October, Focusing on Powering Progress in Communications

The Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) is set to launch its highly anticipated annual KSA Leadership Majlis in Riyadh on October 8, bringing together an elite cohort of Public Relations executives and experts from across the Middle East and international markets.

The Majlis, themed "Powering Progress: Communications at the Crossroads of Innovation, Influence and Impact," is scheduled to take place at the City Hub, Misk City, offering a pivotal platform to explore the evolving strategic role of the communications industry as not just a facilitator of connection but a critical enabler of a more intelligent, immersive, and connected world.

Against the backdrop of the KSA's rapid digital transformation and strategic global positioning, the event will explore how senior PR leaders can navigate disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), harness strategic influence in a fragmented media landscape, and maximize measurable impact on both business objectives and societal change.

Thai AirAsia X Launches Direct Riyadh–Bangkok Service

 Thai AirAsia X launched its first-ever direct flights between Riyadh (RUH), Saudi Arabia, and Bangkok (DMK), Thailand. The new route will commence on 2 December 2025, with four weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, reinforcing AirAsia’s strategy of expanding its network into the Middle East and connecting Asean with one of the region’s most dynamic countries.

H.E. Mr. Darm Boontham, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Saudi Arabia congratulated Thai AirAsia X on the launching of its first direct flight connecting the capitals of Thailand and Saudi Arabia. He said, "This route marks a new era of connectivity between the two Kingdoms, building bridges for trade, investment, cultural exchange, and personal connections. It will strengthen our relationship, fostering friendship and mutual understanding, and opening new opportunities for both nations. Thai AirAsia X’s expansion to this region is a prime example of how to grasp the immense growth potential the Middle East offers to Thai businesses. 

Mr. Ahman Mad-Adam, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai, said “The launch of Thai AirAsia X’s Riyadh–Bangkok service is a milestone that will strengthen tourism and people-to-people ties between Thailand and Saudi Arabia. This direct connectivity makes travel more seamless and opens opportunities for Saudi visitors to explore Thailand’s diverse offerings — from world-class hospitality, shopping, and medical tourism to halal-friendly services and natural attractions. With this new route, we are confident Saudi Arabia will be one of Thailand’s fastest-growing source markets, driving sustainable tourism growth in the years ahead.”

For Saudi travellers, Bangkok is also a gateway to Thailand’s renowned destinations such as Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Krabi, which are especially popular for leisure and family travel. In addition, Thailand has long been recognised as a leading destination for medical tourism, with world-class healthcare facilities, while also catering to Muslim travellers with halal-friendly services and diverse lifestyle options.

The new direct route will shorten the journey between Riyadh and Bangkok to just seven and a half hours, making travel easier and more accessible for both leisure and business purposes. Saudi nationals will also benefit from Thailand’s e-visa and visa-on-arrival facilities, which simplifies entry procedures and enhances convenience for inbound visitors.

Thai AirAsia X operates under a low-cost business model, which adheres to the principle of “You pay for what you need.” Guests have the option to purchase additional services according to their preferences, including seat selection, baggage allowance, and hot meals which include the middle-east dish. Furthermore, we are also committed to delivering services in accordance with international standards. 

The flights will be operated by Thai AirAsia X’s widebody Airbus A330 aircraft, configured with 285 seats, including 30 premium flatbeds and 255 standard economy seats, ensuring comfort and flexibility for both business and leisure travelers.
